Toyota Motor Corporation, a Japanese automotive manufacturer, has continuously been producing popular models which are doing extremely well in India. Though Toyota Motors have primarily focused on the luxury segment, it also offers cars in the midsize segment, small segment and in the utility segment.

Toyota displayed both the sedan and hatchback versions of the Etios at the 2010 Auto-Expo held in New Delhi. Toyota launched the Etios in 2010 to make its presence known in the entry level sedan segment in the Indian market. Initially known as EFC or the Entry Family Car, both the hatchback and sedans are doing extremely well.

Toyota’s latest offering in this segment is the all-new 2014 Toyota Etios Cross. Showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi, Toyota Etios Cross, as the name suggests, is a crossover car from the stables of Toyota Motors. Based on the Liva hatchback, the Etios Cross was launched in India in May 2014. The Etios Cross is well ahead in the new compact crossover segment.


Toyota Innova is a multi purpose vehicle manufactured by Toyota Motors. Launched in the international markets in 2003, Toyota Innova was introduced in India in 2005 and has been the hottest selling MPV in the country, with its style and comfort, ever since. Since 2005, it has received three face lifts. With each facelift, Toyota has ensured that the Innova offers a better output and enhance its trusted consumer base in India.

Another winner that Toyota had launched was an SUV called the Toyota Fortuner. Till then, it was only the Landcruiser and Prado that had dominated the roads. With the Fortuner, the Japanese auto giant has made a mark in the SUV segment in India. It was launched in India way back in the year 2009 and has been upgraded many a time since then. All the versions of this car have been received well in the Indian markets.

The new Toyota Corolla Altis was unveiled for the first time in India at the 2014 Auto Expo. It received positive response when compared to the outgoing model. The 11th generation Corolla Altis was officially launched in May 2014 and is slowly becoming a best seller.

The executive sedan segment is a fast growing and Toyota, with their reliability and consistent product quality had introduced an executive sedan way back in the 80s. The Camry started off as Toyota’s Celica Camry, way back in 1980, and got badged as the Camry in 1982. The Camry was first launched in India in 2002. Toyota Prius, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, and Toyota Land Cruiser are the cars that falls in the luxury segment.
