You know that you love making money, but if you love to travel and love to write, why not put the two together and make money with your two favorite passions? Almost any vacation is full of stories and who doesn’t love to hear a good story once in a while. Being a travel writer is a specialized niche and to make money you will need to write from a unique angle. Find something off the beaten path and high light that rather than a run of the mill documentary of your trip. There is a lot of writing competition out there and if you want to be noticed and make money, you have to stand out from the rest of the crowd. I am not saying it will be easy but if it is something you are committed to making money with and you are passionate about, it is worth pursuing.\

If you travel frequently, consider becoming a travel blogger. Instead of writing about your trip after you return home and rest up, why not write as you go? Hit the highlights of your day before going to bed. Find the out of the way caf and review their signature dish. Introduce your readers to the locals and interview them about the best places to see. Rent a bicycle or a moped and take off on your own and ride the road less traveled. Or walk the road less traveled and you may be surprised what you may find. Be careful where you walk or ride as you won’t be making money if you are sitting in jail.
How do you establish a following and find readers? First, set up a blog site online. There are many blog web sites out and about the web that have no cost set up. Perhaps start blogging with travel trips and a few stories from past vacations to get your blog started. Finding readers and developing a following is all in the marketing and how you promote your blog. Get your blog listed on blogging sites and search engines. If you know anyone with a web page, ask them to put a link to your blog on their page. If you are on one of the many social networks, be sure you add a link to your blog. Don’t let twitter be a stranger even if you just post a link to your travel blog.
How do you make money travel blogging? After your blog is up and running and has a little bit of content, check into adding advertising related to travel. Interest travel related companies in sponsoring your blog for a specific trip. Add a link to their web page or create small text advertising that will be seen prominently on your blog. This might be the most economical form of advertising for some companies if your blog is interesting and updated regularly and has a continuous stream of new readers. Your persistence will make money for you.

Regular updates are the key to making money with your blog. You will find some readers will live vicariously through your blog. You will lose readers if they log in to read your next adventure and there is nothing new in a week or more. If you lose to many readers you won’t be making money.
